Our Review
Jennifer M. Edwards's collection doesn't pick a lane between silly and soothing — it just holds 101 nursery rhymes and sing-along songs across both, from the ones every household half-remembers already, Humpty Dumpty, Hickory Dickory Dock, the Muffin Man, to full sing-along numbers like the Hokey Pokey and If You're Happy and You Know It. Pictures run through the text throughout, which matters for the 3-to-10 range this is aimed at: a three-year-old follows the pictures well before they're following the words, and each reinforces the other.
Loud, physical songs that get a kid moving sit right next to quiet ones like Hush Little Baby and Lullaby and Goodnight, so one book covers a rowdy afternoon and a wind-down at night without needing a second collection for either mood. At 147 pages, the sheer volume means a family isn't hunting across five different books trying to remember the words to one specific rhyme. Repetition is built into the format, and it doesn't take many read-throughs before a child is chanting the choruses without being prompted.
